Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is a holistic approach to healing that uses movement, breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness practices to support emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Unlike a traditional yoga class, yoga therapy is individualized and tailored specifically to the unique needs of each person.
Through carefully selected postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques, yoga therapy can help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, improve emotional balance, support hormonal health, and ease physical tension stored within the body. These practices work gently to create greater awareness of the connection between the mind and body, helping clients feel more grounded, calm, and connected within themselves.
Many of us spend much of our lives in a state of overwhelm, stress, or “mental chatter,” making it difficult to hear our own inner wisdom and intuition. Yoga therapy helps quiet the mind and create space for deeper self-awareness, clarity, and self-acceptance. As the nervous system begins to feel safer and more balanced, clients often experience an increased sense of peace, resilience, and connection to their authentic self.
In sessions, individualized yoga prescriptions may be offered based on each client’s emotional, mental, and physical needs. These personalized practices can include breathing exercises, gentle movement, restorative postures, meditation, and mindfulness tools designed to support healing both inside and out. Yoga therapy can be used alongside traditional talk therapy to create a more integrative and whole-person approach to wellness.
